Over 50 creatives from around the world were asked to visualize a song. The responses are to be featured in a book, website, and exhibitions in both London and New York. The artwork will be auctioned to raise money for breast cancer research. The poster visualizes the ‘Amen Break’, a drum solo by G.C. Coleman. It is 5.2 seconds long and consists of 4 bars from the 1969 song ‘Amen, Brother’ by The Winstons. It is one of the first drum loops to be sampled, and has become one of the most sampled break beats in history.
Organized by Mark Fraser and Chris Ashworth. Designed in collaboration with Tiziana Haug (inthehabit.com).
3-color screen print.
18.5 x 30.5 inches.
